Quick stop at the Pearl Farmer’s Market

On Saturday morning I went to a Bee seminar at the Medina River Natural Area and then I high-tailed it to the Pearl Farmer’s Market to pick up some mushrooms from Kitchen Pride Mushrooms.

Portabella mushrooms

Saturday the Pearl Farmer’s market was celebrating their 3rd year and I knew it would be crowded, but I was hoping that all the mushrooms would not be sold out before I got there.

I was able to pick up some shiitakes, white button mushrooms and portabellas. They didn’t bring any baby bellas with them that day, but I think I will survive! Their mushrooms are so beautiful and they taste wonderful! Last night we had grilled portabellas for dinner. YUM!

I also picked up some arugula from Springhill Farms and some wonderful zucchini and summer squash from Martinez Farms in Pleasanton.

My quick farmers market stop was a success. The arugula will get mixed with some lambsquarter for a nice salad and the zucchini are all going to hit the grill.

Sincerely, Emily

Hi Emily, Sure sounds good! My husband doesn’t like mushrooms but I do! I only get them when I go out to eat. Sounds like you are good at grilling! We don’t even have a grill! Enjoy! Nancy at Cozy Thyme Cottage

    • Hi Nancy. I love love mushrooms. The grilled portabellas were so good that I grilled the last two tonight. I still have the white mushrooms and the shiitakes to eat. Mushrooms every day this week I think. YUM!
