Long, long ago (actually, it was just this past November) I had an incident with one of our oven racks that rendered it useless.
It wasn’t too much of a hardship only having one oven rack, but there were times it was downright annoying. Especially when I could easily turn my head to the right and see the second one mounted on the wall taunting me!
A friend told me about a used appliance store that wasn’t too terrible far away so I called and asked them if they sold oven racks. The man told me to come on down and they would see what they had. So, armed with my good oven rack (I was tempted to take the other one, but I changed my mind)
I was thrilled when they had one that was the same size and sold it to me for $10! I know $10 is a great deal because I had been looking on line and found them around $35 + shipping. $10 SOLD – I couldn’t get the money out of my purse quick enough.
This “new” oven rack needed some work so I set to it with a wire brush and somewhere along the way I decided to just run the oven through the clean cycle to see if that would do it. I have never used the clean cycle on the oven so I found some directions on-line and they were helpful. A few hours later I opened the oven door to a nice clean oven (I really didn’t think the oven had been that dirty) and two gleaming oven racks.
I’m back in business!
