Sunday Photos: Herbs

Today’s Sunday theme over at Not Dabbling in Normal is Herbs.

Since I love growing herbs, I thought I would show you a few more photos of what is growing in my gardens.

Lambsquarter

Drying some horehound

Lemon Thyme 4-2012

Parsley going to seed

Other herbs growing:

  • Tansy
  • Mexican Mint Marigold
  • Curly leaf parsley
  • Cilantro (in the cooler winter months)
  • Chives
  • Savory
  • Thyme: English, Provincal and also French

What herbs do you have growing?

Sincerely, Emily

P.S.  I will be “unplugged” from technology for a few weeks, so you will not see you comment appear until I plug back in and get back in the swing of things. I look forward to reading your comments and will respond to each and every one of them.

Hi Emily, Your Lambs Quarters are just beautiful! Does horehouse spread like mint? Nancy

    • Hi Nancy. My horehound has been very tame. It has not spread at all. It had all winter with nice mild weather and rain, now a dry hot summer. I will have to see what it does this fall and winter and into next spring. I am not sure if it will spread like mint of not. I would like to increase the size of my patch so I can use it for more medicinal things (cough drops, etc) I guess I better do some reading and I might need to take some cuttings and propagate it my self… I just did a google search and here is a link I found… says it can be invasive link mint. Also likes sun and well drained soil and little water. http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/herb/growing-horehound.htm
