Door Knob

This is a door knob from my second cousins Victorian, turn of the century home. She lives in the home that my great-grandparents lived in.The house is full of beautiful woodwork. It has a few sets of big, thick, heavy pocket doors and a beautiful stairway with two landings. It even has a back servants stairway that leads from the kitchen to the second floor bathroom.

Sincerely, Emily

How beautiful. We love touring old homes but I wouldn’t want the work now of keeping them up! Nancy

    • Hi Nancy. I know she is doing things each year to the house. Little by little all the windows have been updates. A section of new roof that went on the turret last year and there is another section to replace next summer. Paint. I think the woodwork would be the yearly things – keeping it oiled and preserved. I do that to a lot of furniture in our house, I can only imagine the amount of time it takes in her house with doors, frames, stairway.

What an awesome door knob! Your second cousins twice removed are very lucky to be living in your Grandparents home 🙂 I wonder what is in the attic?
